Athens (food, people, history)

We are in Athens, capital and largest city in Greece. Heritage of worlds famous monuments and history.

Today will be a day off for us. Bikes parked in front of the hotel, we will explore the city, the food and the history in one day. I know its short but this is what we do since the beginning and so far succesful.

We started this morning by Acropolis. Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a high rocky outcrop above the city and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon.

The site is nice but honestly a way too much tourist. We are not used too, since we travelled in remote places before...So unfortunately we have to deal with and try to take nice pics with so many people was a challenge for Nicolas.

It takes us around 2 hours before heading to small and cute Plaka streets for a lunch on Terrace. 80Euro for 2, a bit expensive but we had live music, that`s why; maybe ?!


The rest of the day was walking down small streets, eating ice cream and trying to rest from these past long days sitting on the bike.

Tomorrow, will head North, closer and closer to home.
