The Georgian border was only 30km away from our hotel.
As soon as we get on the road, the mountains became bigger and bigger. No doubt ! We are on the way to Georgia! We stopped by a
petrol station just before the border and by chance, we met some Harley Davidson riders from Lithuania on their annual holidays trip...Very cool people, so we exchanged some bikers stories as
usual.
We all reach the Russian border in the same time…But seems things are getting complicated for us because of a missing paper about motorbike registration from Kazakhstan. So we said bye-bye to our new friends and went straight to the big boss office`s.
Few minutes later, we understood the missing paper was the one we throw away at the end of Kazakhstan thinking it is useless.
Wrong ! Russia needs it to let us leave the country otherwise, they will keep the bike right here ! No way !
After 4 hours of waiting in the boss office`s who is trying to reach Kazakhstan custom, finally a good news; they found us in the system and they are able to print a second copy from the Russian side….Yeahhhhh we will be soon free. After severals ` sorry, sorry Sir, thanks a lot` we were out. The truck and car queue was huge and going on for several kilometers, no idea how many hours or days, these truck drivers needs to pass the border but its insane. Happy to be on 2 wheels.
As soon the border passed, the scenery was georgous and you can feel you are in a total different world. People, landscape, food,
architecture, religion and especially roads. The asphalt is not perfect but an easy 120/130km/h ride with sharp curly roads drive along rivers and mountains was our vitamins for today
and we loved it ! Tonight we reached a beautiful lake where we set up our camping equipment.
