June 19th Killing insects across the Kyzylum desert !

Getting the crappy SP80 - Nico is crying but we cannot see - too far
Getting the crappy SP80 - Nico is crying but we cannot see - too far

Yesterday, we spent 2 hours in town, trying to looking for some precious SP91 but after 4 petrol stations we figured out, no SP91 in Bukhara ! WDF :(( Only the shitty SP80… We reached the deadline !!! We have no other choices than fill up the tank against our wish.

We still have 3/4 full tank of SP91 (if we did not get cheated with SP quality in Samarkand, because there is no way for us to tell the difference ! We are Powaaaa and not Chemist). So we decided to mix with the crappy SP80.

Today will be a long and boring ride. 420Km of straight and bumpy roads.

We woke up at 3.30am as planned and gazzzzz direction Urgench. Riding early morning  when the sun is still down is appreciable; temperature down, low traffic and a sensation of freedom -yeah we are Dark riders without the fire hahahah. We love it.

The only inconvenient  is probably the lack of visibility to avoid big holepoles and so on…Yeah we had 2 or 3 big frights.

6am, sunrise above the Kyzylum desert, 16th largest desert in the world. Its name means `red sand` in Turkic languages. It remind us a little bit our time in Xinjiang. Yeah we kind of miss China sometimes :)

Our 1st break was around 6.30pm at an abandoned petrol station, in the middle of nowhere to fill up our machine with the extra loaded petrol.

Nico is able to carry extra 11liters, from my side 7liters will be the maximum. Anyway should be alright for today !

We started to count how many insects we killed since this morning but we cannot agree on the numbers..They are definitively dead anyway !

Surprisingly we had a 150Km of super good asphalt but no way to powaaaa too fast ! Because of the shiity SP80 , we have to ride no more than 5000rpm (around 100km/h) to protect the engine and make the ride smoother.

11am, we finally reached Urgench which looks like an useless city. We learned later on than it is the Capital of Khorezm province and its built as a standard - issue Soviet grid of bord streets and empty squares. (look at the picture below, its exactly the case ! looks abandoned city)

1st Hotel ask for 100$, thank you and byebye. We finally found a decent room for 30$ ------------> Check in and Lunch !

Afternoon was more of less a long nap :)

Here, the temperature is worst and reach sometimes 45 degrees, so we keep our body under air condition control :)

Khiva is the 3rd Step on our Uzbek route and tomorrow we will pay a visit.
