Like Daft Punk, tonight we will rock Sailimu Lake.
The night was quite and pretty good for a cheap budget hotel, we ride on the G30 direction Yili but today, our target is Sailimu Lake.
We heard a lot about this lake from the Urumqi bikers gang, so we decided to establish our camping spot there tonight !
Allez 100km to go and we will be in the heaven...We reached the lake about 2pm. Our plan is to find a camping spot for the night and ride around the lake tomorrow morning.
After the quick lunch close to the lake entrance, our bikes were pretty thirsty and the next station was 52km away...Oups...So we went to look after some locals to buy some precious SP93...100 RMB for 10Liters, not too bad...So we jia you 5 liters each and go.
We spotted a beautiful place to set up the tent and spend the night ! Close to the water, green grass land with an AMAZING VIEW on the snowed mountain in front of us...
The place was so quite, just few cars here and there, tourist like us probably...Wild horses eating and running...Seriously its like a post cards landscape...The most beautiful lake of our trip so far...
Then we took the bikes to see a bit more far way how it looks like...
Yes of course, if you want to do the tour, you need to pay RMB70/person....shiiit
Lets see tomorrow if the guards are still there early morning...Hopefully we will pass quickly for free :)
So we drove back to the camp and get ready to have diner...But not before a bath in the freezing cold water...It was difficult but we made it. It was seriously super cold...But we are powaaaa super daft punk riding motorbike WDF !
Locals came closer and took pictures of us. 2 crazy laowais having bath in Sailimu lake should be pretty rare, i guess...
So we also took the opportunity to take some pics with Patrice perfumes`s...The shooting went super well and they wish us good luck for the night...Why ??? because it will be super cold !
Indeed after a quick diner ( 2 tuna cans and few dry grapes, we were in the tent ready to sleep) the night was quite, long and F@#%$^^cold..Again Nicolas has a competition blanket but mine definitively not warm enough, so i had to use the survival blanket. God, fortunately we took one.
We slept until 9am (with the sun drying slowly the wet grass) and get ready to drive around the lake...At 10am the guards were waiting for us but we negotiated free access ( frog cannot allow us to take pictures, thats what we said to them hahahah).
The tour was pretty quick and we gazZZZZ until Yili where we are today...
Yili will be our last Chinese city before the border.
Regarding the Kawa starter ! (lONG STORY, SHORT STORY) EMS told us the package is blocked in Urumqi custom and may be sending back to France or destroyed...Destroyed WDF ! no way ! Probably question about safety but to be honest, i have no idea how a Kawa starter can be dangerous. Anyway, Greg (Loulan winemaker) is helping us to negocciate with the custom. Fingers crossed and keep you updated !
