May 2nd - Gobi Desert !

Our last day in Turpan, we have 3 missions to do : 

1 > Hair and Beard cut...Made in Xinjiang

Task n`1 : Late morning, direction a Lifadian (beard and hair cut saloon n local language) owned by Uighurs people. Uighur's are one of the minority belonging to Muslim religion here.

In Xinjiang you can find Han (Chinese), Uyghurs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz and Kazacks population. So i let you imagine the numbers of different language we have to deal with every days. Anyway, most authentic shop are owned by Uighurs in the big bazar, so lets go...

Hidden in a small street here we go...We found it...People were a little bit surprised to see us but with some body languages, they got the idea and start cutting. A shaven hair cut for Nico (lol) and a Classic one for Juju`s beard and hair...Job done properly for RMB30. 

2 > Loulan winery

After a the hair cut, we stopped by a small shop to have lunch in the big bazar..Delicious local specialities...

Afternoon, we decided to ride 90KM east to visit Loulan Winery. The Chief winemaker is a good friend. Greg is living in Shanshan for years and make one of the best Chinese wine, so we made the detour. Unfortunately Greg was in Holiday and not in town...The Chinese Maitre de Chai shows us around ( equipment, vines, cellar )...Pretty impressive with high winemaking standard. Their equipments are French and also supplied by a good friend , Roland. 

No tasting today :( because we we are driving and in Xinjiang, they don't play with this rule.

3 > Dormir a la belle etoile !

We were waiting this moment since the beginning of the trip and finally we did it : Sleeping in the Gobi desert...

How to describe : it was awesome...We are carrying a tent but so far, or the weather was cold or the place was not nice...

This time we spend 30 min to drive trough vines to find the best spot possible for our camping...

Spot found..Time to unpack the tent, sleeping bags and take some pics of the Sunset.

Suddently, a powaaaaaaa noise comes to our direction...Some motocross riders in the sand dune...yeahhhhhhh jig YOU ! gAZZZ

The night was calm, very calm, no noise and beautiful full moon...Temperature went down quite a lot but soon the sunrise, so we put the alarm and prepare the Go pro..Thats our we rock the Gobi desert. powaaaaaaaa
